Our Curriculum

At Active Kids Academy, we firmly believe that children thrive in an active learning environment, which is why our curriculum places a strong emphasis on physical literacy. Our goal is to broaden your child's horizons and instill a lifelong passion for a healthy and active lifestyle.

Our curriculum covers a range of subjects:

1. Language and Speech: We engage students in activities that enhance their reading, writing, and language development.                                                                                         

2. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math): Our STEM program includes captivating experiments that enhance curiosity and helps children better understanding the world around them.                                                                                                                              

3. Mathematics: Students practice foundational math skills such as addition and subtraction, laying the groundwork for further numerical exploration.                                                                                                                                                          

4. Cognitive Development: We focus on intentional thinking by presenting age-appropriate riddles, interactive puzzles, and engaging themes, which stimulates young minds.                                                                                                                         

5. Team Bonding Games: We foster a sense of community in the classroom, teaching children the value of meaningful friendships and the importance of kindness. Nurturing positive interactions among our students is greatly important at the preschool level.

Our curriculum was thoughtfully developed by Mark Boston, one of our owners with a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta. The Active Kids Academy curriculum aligns with the Alberta Program of Studies, ensuring our students are well-prepared for their future educational endeavours. All learning experiences have been carefully tailored to be developmentally appropriate and suitable for the age of the children.
